About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Level 2 apprentice to work throughout the early years unit in a popular school in Carlisle consisting of 60 pupils, 2 teachers and a number of qualified TA's. This is a great opportunity to begin your career in a school and qualify as an Early Years Practitioner.

General duties to include

• Duties to include setting up and clearing classroom activities, supervising continuous provision, working with small groups, play ground duties, lunch duty with nursery children, breakfast club (paid as an extra) The hours are 8.30 - 3.45, (extra for breakfast club). You will assist qualified TA's to stimulate children’s play and learning and support at meal/snack time. We are looking for confident and friendly apprentice with good time keeping and a willingness to learn and commit fully to the job role. Able to use own initiative to keep children safe, happy and cared for in our supportive environment.

Training & Qualification Details

This Level 2 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –14 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end of this program. Therefore, if you do not already hold a grade 4/C in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional Skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent).
