About the role

This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of the team at a rural primary school that is situated on the Cumbria, Northumbria border.
It is a small school with 2 classes and 23 pupils, you will have the privilege of getting to know each of the pupils and making a positive impact on their school life. The school has a very special family environment where everyone counts. Parking is available, driving will be essential as there are no public transport links.
You will have the opportunity to join the once a week after school club and support pupils who come in for breakfast club. If you are looking to train to be a Teaching Assistant this is he perfect opportunity to experience working with pupils of all ages and abilities!

General duties to include

  • Daily duties will include:
  • Supporting the class teacher
  • Leading small group activities
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Being involved with the planning of teaching sessions.
  • Supporting the pupils social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.
  • Supporting health and safety in the setting
  • Lunch and break duties
Training & Qualification Details

This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –18 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the program.
