Our head office team in Silloth are a friendly and approachable bunch and is made up of an MD/Transport Manager, Transport Planner, Compliance Manager and Officer Manager.

About the role

We are paying well above apprenticeship wage at £7.50 an hour and can offer someone a real career route with us where they feel valued and a real integral part of our team.

Initially you will join as a Transport Administrator and learn how the administration office supports the smooth running of the operations. This will include learning the ropes across general admin, finance, planning and compliance.

The hours are 37.5 hours a week from 9am to 5pm with 30 mins for lunch. Free parking is offered to all staff.

General duties to include

• • Supporting the business with general transport administration, paperwork, answering telephones and general enquiries.
• • Using Coach Manager (planning and accounting software)
• • Communicating with the office team, drivers and clients.
• • Prioritising tasks and be responsible for managing your workload.
• • Work with the office manager to complete HR tasks and accounts.

Your future career with us

Once you have completed the training period which is underpinned with the Level 3 Business administration Apprenticeship, you will move into a permanent full-time role in the Transport support office and receive a pay rise in line with increased experience. You will then be offered the opportunity to towards becoming a Transport Supervisor in the future.

You will get the rare opportunity to go on to gain recognised Transport Management qualifications to allow you to explore and develop a career in the business.

Nationally, Transport Planners/Managers are earning a salary upwards of £30,000 a year so there is much potential for the right person!

Gain a Level 3 Qualification through the Business Academy

The Business Academy is underpinned by the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship which offers you a blended learning experience while you learn on the job. The learning element takes approximately 15 months. This includes 20% of your time learning with us at System People which includes classroom lesson delivery one day a month and online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. You will have access to 1-2-1 tutor support as well as a workplace mentor. System People have fantastic pass rates, we won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore, to apply for this role you will need to hold a grade C (grade 4) or above in Maths OR English and a D (grade 3) or above in the other.

There is support available through System People should you need Functional skills Maths or English support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent).
