Our school has a long and proud tradition of educating the children of west Carlisle for 125 years now: we are a school which is truly at the heart of the community it serves. As a high-quality staff team, we are committed to providing an exciting, vibrant and relevant education for our fantastic children. We believe in the potential of each and every child; every day we strive to ensure all of our children are given the life chances they need to ‘be the best they can be’.
Caldew Lea joined Cumbria Education Trust in October 2019. This exciting development in our school history enables us to work positively and purposefully in collaboration with our partner Trust Primary Schools to secure the very best outcomes for our children. Our shared values of ‘Respect, Responsibility and Resilience’ are the foundation of all we do.
We are looking for an apprentice to join our team who has the same enthusiasm and commitment to helping our children achieve and develop.
If you are hard working, have great communications skills and a genuine desire to work with children this is the perfect opportunity for you.
You will need to have gained a grade 4/C in maths and English, be willing to undertake and further training necessary and be flexible within the job role.
Caldew Lea have successfully training and employed apprentices over the last 5 years, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be the opportunity of employment.
This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –18 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the program.
Apprenticeships are open to everyone of all ages, so perhaps you have just left school and would like to get straight into work? Maybe you are a working parent looking for a change? Or perhaps you are looking for a career break and want to retrain and start something totally new! All applications are welcome.
