About the role

Belle Vue Primary School would like to appoint a Teaching Assistant apprentice to work in our Year 1 unit working across two classes.
We are a busy and vibrant school that have a passion for ensuring all of our pupils are supported and encouraged to achieve and develop. We are looking for someone who will be committed to building and maintaining positive relationships with pupils and staff and are willing to immerse themselves in all aspects of the school day. Candidates must have a minimum of grade 4/C in maths and English, a genuine desire to work with children within an educational setting and be keen to learn themselves. You will be working with a team of qualified teachers and teaching assistants who will support you to develop your skills enabling you to work with the children and help them reach their full potential. General duties to include

  • Daily duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Supporting whole class teaching
  • Leading small group learning activities
  • Setting up and cleaning away activities
  • Keeping accurate records of pupil progress and participation
  • Working with the class teacher to plan learning activities
  • Playground duties
  • Communicating clearly with the class teacher and other staff
  • Undertake any other training as required

Belle Vue is a large Primary school and upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there my be the opportunity to join our school staff.

Training & Qualification Details

This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –18 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the program.
