We provide excellent care for children aged 6 months to eleven years, Spotted Dog Day Nursery and Pre-school is a home from home setting, enabling your child to learn and play in an outstandingly beautiful environment. Based at Clawthorpe Hall Business Centre, We offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities for your child to choose from. There is easy parent parking for drop offs and pick-ups, flexible hours, home-cooked food, extensive grounds as well as all-weather outdoor play areas in a spacious, safe, environment with the highest standard of professional care.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at the Spotted Dog Nursery in Burton-in-Kendal. We are situated near Carnforth and only 7 miles from Lancaster.
As part of our team you will be supported to develop your skills while working with our fabulous children either in the baby and toddler room or with our pre-schoolers. We are looking for someone who has lots of energy and a true desire to work with young children supporting them to develop through indoor and outdoor play activities.
Essential criteria for this role include a good level of maths and English, grade 4/C or above, excellent communication skills, honesty and confidence and a willingness to learn and become part of our team.

Spotted Dog nursery is one of a group of three in the surrounding area, after successful completion there may be the opportunity to progress to Level 3 Early Years Educator
This Level 2 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –14 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end of this program. Therefore, if you do not already hold a grade 4/C in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional Skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent).
