Acorns Nursery and St Bridget's Kids Club is for Kids to play, relax and enjoy themselves. There is always quiet space if kids want to do homework, read or simply chill out!
We have a large range of play equipment and materials. We have been successful in obtaining funding from a variety of sources including the Neighbourhood Forum, Allerdale Early Years Partnership and the Lottery Fund.

About the role

We are very excited to be able to offer this unique and varied role working as an Early Years apprentice for Acorns Nursery and St Bridgets Primary School. This vacancy is open for Level 2 Early Years Practitioner and Level 3 Early Years Educator candidates who have a strong work ethic, lots of energy and a strong desire to work with young children.
The successful applicant will be working across the nursery and kids club but will also gain experience in the schools Reception and Year 1 class.
You will need to have excellent communication to build positive relationships with the children, families and staff, be flexible and keen to develop your own skills and knowledge.

General duties to include

  • Daily duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • To assist with the planning, organisation and maintain a learning environment appropriate to the developmental needs and interests of children
  • Supporting whole class learning
  • To work as part of a team of providers of early years education and development
  • Planning adult led activities
  • Promoting the health and safety of the children at all times
  • Keeping individual child records and planning next development steps
  • Supervising child led activities and meal times.

Training & Qualification Details

This Level 2 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –14 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end of this program. Therefore, if you do not already hold a grade 4/C in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional Skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent).
