About the role

This is an incredible opportunity for the right person to join our well established and knowledgeable team at Jack and Jill Nursery.
We are looking for an apprentice to join our team who has a grade 4/C in maths and English, excellent communication skills, written and spoken and a true passion for supporting the holistic development of our children.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team, developing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, parents and children, have an enthusiastic approach to work demonstrating a professional attitude and the flexibility to cope with the changing needs of the nursery.
The role requires you to have high levels of energy, respect for all, an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and sensitivity to individual children's needs.

General duties to include

  • Planning and delivering activities
  • Being involved with the recording of child development
  • Ensuring that you are familiar with all key nursery policies and procedures.
  • Setting up and clearing away activities
  • Promoting at all times good relations between staff members, parents and children.
  • Ensuring our children have a happy, safe and healthy environment
  • To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed.
Your future career with us

After the successful completion, there may be the opportunity to progress to Level 3 Early Years Educator with us.

Training & Qualification Details

This Level 2 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –14 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will either be via ZOOM or in person depending on your location) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end of this program. Therefore, if you do not already hold a grade 4/C in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional Skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent).
